I cannot recommend this book highly enough ! As Curator, this book has been invaluable to me in helping me with my research and identification of the many vintage bears in the Museum. Pauline Cockrill , whom I have had the pleasure to meet personally, writes with authority, and her research is top notch. The pictures of the many vintage bears is incredible. If you only have one book to buy, this is it ! This comes with the Curator's personal recommendation.
Linda Mullins Teddy Bears & Friends Identification & Price Guide A very established Identification and Price Guide. Linda Mullins is an institution in the vintage bear collecting world , and this identification guide is extremely well-respected. 160 pages thick, it features 800 Steiff Replicas, Special and Limited Editions 800 Full Color Teddy Bears and Friends Recommended ! The Story of the Steiff Teddy Bear An Illustrated History from 1902 by Gunther Pfeiffer Antique and vintage Stieff bears are truly the most beautiful of all vintage bears , and Gunther Pfeiffer ( who has written quite a few books on Steiff Bears ) has gathered together 250 illustrations including rare archive photographs detailing the history of the Steiff Teddy Bear. Recommended . The rare archive photographs from the Steiff vaults are worth the price of the book alone , and look at that gorgeous early Rod bear on the cover ! (front row of bears, to the left of the cover ) Miller's Teddy Bears : A Complete Collector's Guide Paperback version , April 2006 by Sue Pearson Sue Pearson is a reknown dealer in antique teddy bears from England, and this Millers Guide to teddy bears released in April 2006 is probably the most updated price guide there is available currently. If you love vintage teddy bears and are considering starting a collection, this book is a must-have for your reference library. Recommended ! Teddy Bears: A Complete Guide to History, Collecting, and Care Hardcover, Out of Print but available from Amazon Marketplace by Sue Pearson and Dottie Ayers Grab this gorgeous hardcover book while you still can ! This book, released in 1995 and now out of print , is one of my favourite reference books for vintage teddy bears and is written by Sue Pearson and Dottie Ayers . Dottie Ayers is one of the most prominent dealers in vintage teddies in the United States, and Dottie and Sue have produced a book that is authoritative and truly a joy to read and enjoy. The photos of the old bears are gorgeous ! This book is still available on the secondary book market through the Amazon Market Place , so grab a copy while you still can. American Teddy Bear Encyclopedia Hardcover, Special Order by Linda Mullins It seems like all the great Teddy Bear reference books are all going out of print ! This is another wonderful book that is a must have for all serious collectors of vintage teddy bears. Focusing on American teddies, this is an authoritative book that you should try to add to your library before it really becomes unavailable. Released in 1995 at the peak of the teddy bear collecting storm of the 90s, this book remains one of the best books about American teddy bears that there is, and has carefully researched information about American teddy bear companies such as Gund, Ideal, Knickerbocker, Applause, North American Bear Co., R.
